Blackhurst Cultural Centre (formerly A Different Booklist Cultural Centre- ADBCC) Logo Design Project Rules & Regulations
Eligibility Criteria:
- To enter the project, you must be:
- Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents in Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec) of African and/or Caribbean ancestry;
- 17 years of age or older at the time of entry;
- Be an individual and not a corporation;
- Either have graphic design experience to your merit or are enrolled in a recognized post-secondary Canadian Institution (CEGEP, college, technical institute or university).
- Family members or those residing in households of the company, judges, Andrew Perry marketing or corporate sponsors are not eligible to enter.
Creation Criteria:
- The logo is for the name: Blackhurst Cultural Centre – The People’s Residence.

- Entries containing any political symbol or messaging will not be considered.
- Entries containing logos that might contain offensive, pornographic, inappropriate, or sexually explicit content will be disqualified.
- The entries should exhibit original design, creativity, visual balance, and color coordination aligned with the brand’s style guide (Style Guide).
- Acceptable file formats include: PSD, JPEG (JPG), PNG, PDF, AI, EPS. Entries must include: color version, monochrome version, favicon version of the logo.
- The winning entry must be provided as a vector file within two weeks of notification.
- Only one entry is allowed per participant.
- Logos not adhering to the style guidelines set would be immediately disqualified.
Submissions & Selections:
The logo project will be held over 6 weeks in 4 rounds once the submission period closes. The first round is the design panel’s top 10 selection. Round 2 is open voting by the community to select the top 5 designs. Round 3 is the selection of the top 3 logos by the design panel. The last round, round 4, is the final selection of the winner by community voting. The logo with the most votes wins and this decision is considered final. The winner has 48hrs to respond and accept before the prize is awarded to the runner-up. If the winner is disqualified for not adhering to any of the project rules and requirements, the runner-up shall be awarded as the winner.
